Frequently Asked Questions
DEI&B
What does DEI&B stand for?
The acronym “DEI&B” stands for “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging”. Diversity is as much about looking at all the ways we are unique and varied from one another as it is about finding those things that unite us to one another as well. Equity is another way of saying “fair”, and Inclusion is about the ways by which organizations ensure that individuals feel welcomed, respected, and valued for their unique contributions, regardless of their background or identity. Inclusion involves creating environments where everyone has the opportunity to fully participate and succeed. And, perhaps my favorite part of the acronym, is Belonging. Belonging is the feeling of being accepted and valued as employees, customers, or stakeholders. Belonging involves that sense of security and support that comes about when we feel that we can bring our full and authentic self to the organization.
What services do you offer related to DEI&B?
At Inspired Consulting Group, LLC, we offer a wide range of DEI&B consulting services including DEI&B assessments, training, strategy development, group facilitation, and implementation support.
How can DEI&B initiatives benefit my organization?
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B) initiatives can benefit organizations in several crucial ways. Organizations that embrace DEI&B strategies find that their teams have enhanced innovation and creativity and improved decision-making. These organizations also enjoy improved employee engagement and customer brand loyalty. Studies have shown that organizations with strong DEI&B policies tend to perform better economically. This is due in part to a combination of enhanced innovation, customer loyalty, employee satisfaction, and brand reputation.
How long does it typically take for organizations to see results from their DEI&B initiatives?
Organizations, and the humans within them, can sometimes be complex. Therefore, the timeframe for seeing tangible results from DEI&B initiatives in organizations can vary widely depending on several factors such as the scope and scale of the initiatives, the commitment and resources the organization has allocated to the initiatives, and the starting point (baseline) where the organization is jumping off from. It’s common for some organizations, though, to start actualizing some of the benefits of their DEI&B initiatives within a few months, if resourced properly. More substantial changes in some aspects of the organization like workplace culture, employee satisfaction, and financial performance can take anywhere from 1 to 3 years or more. We believe that long-term commitment to DEI&B is crucial, as meaningful and sustainable change is an ongoing process rather than a one-time initiative. Explore DEI&B Consultation.
How do you approach DEI&B consulting engagements?
Identifying a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B) consultation model that is the best fit for your organization is one of the first keys to successful DEI&B engagement and implementation. We bring a holistic and personalized style to DEI&B and hold ourselves to high standards in transparency and strong communication with our partners.
What industries or sectors do you specialize in?
Our DEI&B consultation services have been successfully used by a variety of industries including financial institutions, public schools, behavioral health organizations, hospital systems and health care, state, local and city government, engineering, and non-profits of all sizes.
What makes you different from other consultants?
Our consulting services are delivered through the parallel lens of social work and social justice. Chris’s background as a clinical social worker offers a unique perspective to his partners. Chris works to develop personal relationships with his partners to best understand their needs and then works collaboratively to build a plan together to meet those expressed needs. Inspired Consulting Group, LLC has developed a proprietary DEI&B consulting methodology which contains 10 steps across 5 phases and follows the acronym PLACE, because at Inspired Consulting Group, we believe that there’s a place for everyone at the table. What are your fees and billing structure?
Inspired Consulting Group offers 4 partnership tracks to support organizations in meeting their identified DEI&B goals and objectives. Monthly rates generally range in price from $2000 to $3500 depending on the scope and deliverables of the partnership and the amount of time each month the organization is looking to reserve. However, we are always willing to work with partners to create a budget structure that best fits your goals and resources.
How do you tailor your services to meet the needs of my organization?
Each of our partnership tracks can be individually customized to best meet the unique needs of any organization. We pride ourselves on helping partners find a level of consultation that will provide a structured yet flexible approach to DEI&B consultation, enabling organizations of all different sizes, budgets, and stages of their DEI&B journey to find the best entry point and path for growth.
